After panda and penguin rolled out this year and Google
launched its hummingbird algorithm for search you should be more careful about
your every single online activity regarding SEO projects. There is no doubt
that you have to earn (build) links but through ethical ways. As penguin
targets bad or spam links we must change our strategy to boils links.
I hope almost all SEO's know what is forum and how to do
forum comment because forum is used more than anything else to build links.
So here are some Anti penguin Forum comment etiquettes.
Use same profile image/avatar/photo/snap for every forum; if
it is of some nonliving object or animal then it is even better Like Elephant, smiley,
soccer ball. Parachute, lotus etc.
Try to fill profile information 100 % and give importance to
every field.
Use simple username and keep it same for every community.
Go for dummy address only if you are not allowed to use real
information of your client like address, phone number image, slogan, it should
be same for every forum profile. I mean your profile has uniformity in
different communities.
Add active social media links like Facebook, Twitter, Google
plus if you have created account in these using your working email (I mean the
email you are using for forum registration but Not personal)
Read the comment policies before going to comment in any
thread
Comment only in threads which are live and strictly relevant
with your client's website topic.
You can use links to your projects on other site or guest
post links etc to let other people know what else you did online.
Don't focus only on adding link but give due importance to
participation in groups, make friends, earn badges etc.
Read the root of thread topic and go across all comment if
possible so that you can give your best and the most required comment according
to demand of thread.
Follow up your comments weekly to show genuinely of your
membership in communities.
It is not necessary to comment everyday rather, comment
weekly or monthly.
But make sure to be active in forum.
Subscribe all thread related alerts so that you have idea
about what is going on in the thread and what people said about your comment.
Don't add or put link if you are commenting first time, obviously
you are new born to that forum.
Avoid linking your keyword/anchor text instead use bare link
like home and other pages of site.
Or link a word within your comment which is related to your
keyword but don't do this often.
